According to the Press Statement released on 27 th January 2021 by the office of the Attorney General & Department of Justice; Business Registration Services, the deadline for submitting the Beneficial Ownership Information for all companies has been extended for 6 months with effect from 1 st February 2021.
This follows the previous communication that by 31 st January 2021, all companies registered under the Companies Act, 2015 and The Companies Act Cap. 486 Laws of Kenya (now repealed) are required under Section 93A to prepare and submit a copy of the Beneficial Ownership registers to the Registrar of Companies within 30 days of its preparation and to notify the Registrar within 14 days of any change in beneficial ownership information.
The public is notified that in the spirit to encourage compliance, this is the final grace period granted and will end on 31 st July 2021.
