The CS, Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government, Dr. Fred Matiang’i issued a Press Release dated 26th May 2021 stating that the Government has launched a 60-day Rapid Response Initiative (RRI). The purpose of this exercise is to regularise the status of Kenyans who lost their citizenship prior to the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution as well as spouses & descendants of Kenyan Citizens.
The said initiative is not only to regularise Kenyans’ Citizenship but to also issue Permanent Residence status to qualified foreign investors who will in turn not only spur Kenya’s economic growth but also create numerous job opportunities. The intention of the initiative is to ease the technicalities and complexities that come with the application process. The Applicants are therefore urged to comply with the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act of 2011 since all the documents shall be subjected to rigorous background checks while at the same time the process being expeditious due to the capacity adjustments in the Immigration Quality Control.
